Laser Therapy / Acupuncture

Laser therapy is a medical treatment that uses focused light to stimulate a process called photobiomodulation, or PBM. During PBM, photons enter the tissue and interact with the mitochondria. This interaction triggers a biological cascade of events that leads to an increase in cellular metabolism, decrease in pain, reduction in muscle spasm, and improved microcirculation to injured tissue. This treatment is FDA cleared and provides patients a non-invasive, non-pharmacological alternative for pain relief.

Distinctive and Bold

Living with chronic pain can make you feel helpless, which can lead to excessive use of painkillers and even depression.

We believe you deserve a better, safer solution over prescription drugs and expensive procedures.

About Epoch® Lasers

Epoch® Lasers offers therapeutic lasers for physicians, therapists, athletic trainers and patients for office visits or in their homes.

The Epoch® laser therapy system is an effective modality for treatment of pain and inflammation and accelerating healing.

The Epoch® Laser Therapy system initiates healing at the cellular level. This enables the reduction of compounds related to pain and inflammation. Simultaneously, healing and tissue regeneration are stimulated.

The system can be a stand-alone treatment or paired with rehabilitative physical therapy.

The Difference between Epoch Laser and a Cold Laser

Cold Lasers used for Cold Laser Therapy or Low-Level Laser Therapy use very low powered laser light to stimulate healing. These Lasers do not cause your tissues to heat up, thus the term “Cold”.  Generally, these Lasers have a low optical power output, a small spot size and a low power density.

The key to successfully treating deep into the tissue is to generate enough optical power that enough light energy will be present after going through all the different tissue to stimulate the healing of cells deep within the body. In other words, there must be sufficient power density on the surface of the skin to achieve cell stimulation deeper down. Cold Laser simply do not have enough optical power to enable this to occur. Their Power Density is quite low. They do have a place, however, if the practitioner knows exactly where to place the small beam, such as on an acupuncture point and the beam can be held in place for a long period of time. Additionally, the wavelength of the light would have to be at the right frequency such that it is not absorbed in the top layer of the skin.

Warmth of the layers of tissues from the application of a higher power Laser not classified as a Cold Laser, is due to the absorption of the infrared Laser light. Besides the cell stimulation coming from the light interacting with the cells, the warming effect is comfortable to the patient and results in vasodilation, this is beneficial in improving blood flow into the injured area which further helps with healing. Cold Lasers or other low power light emitting devices simply cannot provide these two healing mechanisms
.

How the Epoch Laser is Different

Science shows us that the Wavelength of Light, Power density and Treatment time are all important factors to the healing effects of a therapeutic light devices. The Epoch Laser, uses the latest technology of a single wavelength light emitter tuned to a frequency that stimulates cell healing and spreads over a surface area of 30 square inches. This provides an extremely large treatment area and because it is more powerful than a cold laser, the patient feels the warming effect through the absorption of light within the layers of tissue, thus providing the dual benefit of tissue warming and light stimulation.
